Aaron BallSouthwest Rescue's owner and main instructor, Aaron Ball, has spent years working in the outdoor recreation industry and countless days recreating in the environments in which he teaches. Aaron has worked as a ski patroller at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area in California; a raft guide on the rivers of California, Utah, and Colorado; and an instructor and staff trainer for Outward Bound. He currently teaches wilderness medicine for the Wilderness Medicine Training Center (WMTC) and swiftwater rescue for Rescue 3 International. Aaron is quite simply an outdoor enthusiast. His work and play take him into wild places whether it is to teach, sit, or do something a bit more blood pumping. His passions and outdoor pursuits include backcountry skiing, rock climbing, ice climbing, river riding (kayak and raft), and anything else that gets him outside. He currently lives in the mountains outside of Durango, Colorado, with his partner and is always out exploring the wonders of the area.
